Cookies & Local Storage

We set no cookies

This site sets no cookies at all — not ours, and none belonging to anyone else. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook or Pinterest pixel, no advertising tag, no session cookie and no consent-management script. You can check this yourself in your browser's developer tools.

Why there is no cookie banner

A cookie banner exists to ask permission for storage that is not needed to run the site — above all tracking and advertising. We do none of that, so there is nothing to ask you about. We would rather not put a pop-up in your way for the sake of appearances.

What we do store in your browser

One item, in local storage rather than a cookie:

NameWhat it isWhy
mira_sess A random string, created in your browser. Example: m7k2p1x9ab3c. So that the steps of one visit count as one visit, and we can see where people stop in the quiz. It holds no name, email or birth details, and it is never sent anywhere except to our own server.

Clearing your browser's site data removes it. Nothing breaks if you do — a new one is made next time, and no reading is lost, because your reading lives in your email, not in your browser.

Our server log

Separately from your browser, our web server keeps an ordinary access log of requests: IP address, browser user-agent, page requested, referring page and any campaign tag in the link. This is how we count real visits and separate them from the automated scanners that hit every site on the internet. It is described in full in our Privacy Policy.

Fonts from Google

Two pages — the sales page and the order form — load their typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser fetches those files from Google, and Google sees your IP address in the process. No cookie is set by this, and we send Google nothing else about you.
